With that fight looming large, he teased on Thursday night that he had signed "the biggest deal of his career" - teasing a non-boxing event between two "major teams" at a London stadium.Fans were swinging wildly over what it could be and they were left to wait until Friday morning for his big reveal.
And then, in a video on social media on Friday morning, he said: "I'm delighted to announce that I'll be representing England at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, June 9.
Go on the Three Lions!"Most fans saw the funny side of the cheeky stunt that put plenty of eyeballs on the bi-annual charity match - for which Usain Bolt, Sir Mo Farah, Eden Hazard and Danny Dyer are among the eclectic host of celebrities from sport and beyond already announced.
