Driver escapes serious injury after crash ends with Mercedes on its roof

A driver escaped serious injury after a crash ended with their Mercedes car on its roof. The drama happened in Heywood this afternoon (July 12).

Pictures from the scene showed the red saloon car on its roof, half of the car in a hedge and the rest on the pavement. A lamp-post appeared to have been demolished in the crash.

The emergency services were called to Bury New Road in Heywood at around 3.50pm. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said said it didn't appear anyone was seriously hurt during the incident.
