A desperate worker at a dodgy shop tried to hide among knock-off products - including fake Chanel and Louboutin bags - as police carried out a raid on Manchester's notorious 'Counterfeit Street'.

Muhammad Mohamoodi attempted to camouflage himself between racks of items at the Bury New Road unit when officers burst in. Cops found the shop full of the forged goods during an ongoing crackdown.

Mohamoodi, from Salford, admitted distributing goods bearing a false trademark and was handed a community order at Manchester Crown Court.

He said he came to the UK illegally in 2020 from Afghanistan and was recruited to work in the store for £40 a day, between four or five days a week, on behalf of an organised group.
