Councillor 'really ashamed' after stumbling out of Audi when police pulled him over

A councillor seen to stumble out of an Audi car after it was pulled over by police was later found to be more than four times over the drink-drive limit.

Matt Bryan, 37, was ordered by magistrates at a court sentencing hearing to wear an alcohol monitoring tag. The tags sample a wearer's sweat every 30 minutes to detect alcohol.

Bryan, a Cheshire West and Chester councillor, was also slapped with a three-year driving ban after being convicted of drink-driving.

Now representing Upton in Cheshire as an Independent, he had pleaded guilty in February to a charge of driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit. READ MORE: 'I have a knife.
