Coronation Street star opens up about heartbreaking exit storyline as soap kills off beloved character
ok.co.ukCoronation Street star Peter Ash has opened up on filming his emotional storyline as Paul Foreman, who learnt he had ‘months to live’ as he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in April 2023.
Viewers have seen the character’s condition worsen on screen, as the tragic storyline is set to come to an end. In emotional scenes, the character has even contemplated the idea of taking his own life.
In recent episodes, viewers have seen Paul’s speech being impacted, as he’s started to use an assisted machine. Speaking on his upcoming departure from the beloved soap to OK!
and other media on the red carpet at the RadioTimes.com soap awards, Peter said: “It’s a double-edged sword. I’ll be sad to go but so grateful that I’ve been trusted with this storyline.” The star also said he had ‘mixed emotions’ about the story coming to an end.
