Coronation Street star Sean Wilson has been spotted not too far away from the show's set after it was revealed he wasn't able to continue his return to the ITV soap.

Back in July, the actor returned to filming as he reprised the role of Martin Platt. The return came six years after he last appeared on the famous cobbles and he was set to appear on screen in October as part of Helen Worth's exit as Gail Platt's exit.

Soap legend Helen announced earlier this year her plans to step back from her iconic role after 50 years, with her last scenes expected by the end of 2024. However, last month it was confirmed that Sean will no longer be reprising his role as Martin later in the year. A spokesperson for the soap told The Mirror: "Sean Wilson has stepped down from filming for personal reasons." Now, Sean has been spotted around Media City, just a stone's throw from the Corrie set in Quay Street, with his long-term girlfriend Carol Hammond, marking the first time he's been spotted since his shock Corrie U-turn.
