Coronation Street star Bruce Jones has revealed his latest career move after exiting the ITV soap in 2007. In a surprise move, the soap star has swapped acting for wrestling - at the age of 71.
Bruce made his wrestling debut on Saturday, 18 February at the Trinity Sports Centre in Manchester. He paid homage to his role as Les Battersby on Corrie with his outfit, as he sported his character's famous double denim at the event, hosted by Sovereign Pro Wrestling. "They don’t call him Batters-by for nothing!" the actor declared as he excited the 200-strong crowd.
Bruce arrived in the room to Rockin' All Over The World by Status Quo - his favourite band - and shook hands with delighted fans, as he made his way to the ring.
Bruce's surprise career move was revealed in November, as the organisation behind the event - SOVPRO - shared the news on social media.
