Charity Keep Scotland Beautiful to host paid online workshop for Lanarkshire residents

People in Lanarkshire are invited to take part in a paid online workshop to learn more about littering issues.Environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful is offering £35 to residents who attend the two-hour online workshop on February 29, as part of their commitment to the government’s National Litter and Flytipping Strategy.Eighty-two per cent of those who responded to the consultation on the new strategy shared a strong appetite for the establishment of a community education programme.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The Lanarkshire workshop is one of five planned across Scotland throughout February and follows the publication of Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Scottish Litter Survey, which found that 90 per cent of people agree that litter is a problem across the country.

The report also revealed that 70 per cent of people believe that litter is a problem locally.The Community Litter Workshops will explore why litter is a hard problem to fix; the scale of the problem; the wider impacts of the problem; and ways to consider changing the behaviours that are leading to the litter
