Gary Goldsmith, a contestant on the latest instalment of ITV's Celebrity Big Brother, has defended his niece, the Princess of Wales, against accusations made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
He expressed his belief that they unfairly criticised her, and also dismissed claims made in the Dutch version of Omid Scobie's book Endgame that King Charles and the Princess of Wales questioned what skin colour Prince Archie might have. The 58 year old's comments came after a source told a newspaper that the CBB production team "love" Gary, who is the younger brother of Kate's mum, Carole Middleton, because he "won't hold back" when it comes to talking about about his royal connections.
The source told The Sun: “The CBB team love him because of his link to Kate and the fact that he’s confident and loud and won’t hold back." While the contestant has not held back on his views on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it's unlikely he'll speak poorly of Kate as he previously expressed his frustration with Harry for the accusations made against his "beautiful" relative.
He said: "I got so upset with Harry and Meghan because you don't put a stick into that spoke and reinvent history, I've got pretty miffed when they had a pop at my beautiful niece who couldn't say anything for herself," he told The Sun. "It's absolute bulls**t and I didn't hide my feelings very well when I was offered the opportunity to say something." Gary, who has at times been a controversial and divisive figure, has also spoken out in defence of his family against claims of racism, saying: "Kate is 100 per cent not racist, neither is Carole.
