Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
Carole King to Speak at ‘Swifties for Kamala’ Kickoff Call

According to its official X/Twitter account, Swifties for Kamala describes itself as a “coalition of Swifties ready to mobilize Taylor Swift fans to help get Democratic candidates elected up and down the ballot!” The organization is not affiliated with Taylor Swift herself — though, according to one post, “she is always welcome to show up to our party.” Featured speakers and guests on the call include senators Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand and Ed Markey; Rep.

Swift inducted King into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, performing a cover of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and calling her “the greatest songwriter of all time.” “I can’t remember a time when I didn’t know Carole King’s music,” she said. “I was raised by two of her biggest fans, who taught me the basic truths of life as they saw it: that you should treat people the way you want to be treated, that you must believe that you can achieve whatever you want to in life, and that Carole King is the greatest songwriter of all time.”.
