Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer Fresh from her surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention, Oprah Winfrey is holding a large livestream next week to rally support for Kamala Harris.

The event, dubbed “Unite for America,” is billed as a chance for pro-Harris affinity groups — Win With Black Women, Cat Ladies for Kamala, Win With Black Men, White Dudes for Harris, Swifties for Kamala, etc. — to gather under one banner.

Winfrey will host about 400 voters in person on Sept. 19 and livestream the event on platforms including YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch and Instagram. “The event will serve as a call to action to work in communities throughout battleground states to register people to vote and build support in advance of November 5th,” the organizers stated in a press release.

Many celebrities have already participated in Zoom fundraisers for Harris, which are designed to galvanize supporters to take concrete steps to help the campaign.
