And the moment he got the call has been highlighted by his national team manager to underline how much it means to those starring for Australia.
Devlin only has one cap for his country but will be aiming for more when his team take on France, Tunisia and Denmark in Group D in two weeks’ time.
There's more joy for the Jambos will be joined by his Hearts team-mates Nathaniel Atkinson and Kye Rowles plus Hibs' Martin Boyle, Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy and Dundee United's Aziz Behich.
