Bruce Willis' wife has shared an update on her actor husband's prognosis as he continues to battle with the effects of his devastating dementia diagnosis.

Emma Heming Willis, who married the Hollywood icon in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2009 after meeting at the gym two years earlier, said 68-year-old Bruce's options for treatment were "slim" but the family wouldn't lose hope as they continue to learn to manage his condition. The Die Hard and Sixth Sense actor star developed aphasia - which affects the brain's ability to understand speech and language - in March 2022, and was given a formal diagnosis frontotemporal dementia by his doctors earlier this year.

Emma, 44, gave the update on a social media post celebrating the release of a documentary about a son's experience of dealing with his mother's dementia diagnosis. "When you live the world of dementia you know that options are slim," Emma shared with her 833k followers this week. "But some won’t take that lying down which is how change is made, and I got to witness the beauty in that last night." The British-American model has become become a hugely vocal supporter of dementia care since Bruce's diagnosis and regularly uses her social platform to host information sessions with dementia professionals, focussing on topics like communication and the best ways to support caregivers.

Emma, who was first discovered after winning a modelling competition on The Big Breakfast television show, is also mum to the couple's two daughters, Mabel Ray, 11, and Evelyn Penn, 9, and frequently describes her husband as a doting and loving dad.
