Famous horror film and TV studio Blumhouse, which has released a slew of cult hits such as Paranormal Activity, The Black Phone, M3GAN and Five Nights at Freddy’s, is finally ready to stake its claim in the video game space after the studio’s announcement of its new games division last year.

Friday afternoon during the Summer Games Fest, Blumhouse Games, aimed at partnering with low-budget independent developers of horror games for console, PC and mobile devices, showcased the long-awaited sneak peek of what scares await players in the near future.

The company’s debut game will be Cozy Game Pals’ atmospheric horror adventure Fear the Spotlight. The game serves as a twisted and loving homage to classic 90s teen horror stories, as it centers around two young women named Vivian and Amy as they sneak into a school after hours to solve a disturbing mystery behind a school tragedy that occurred decades before.

Subsidiary President Zach Wood, who has worked on popular game IP like, Sony’s Twisted Metal and Bethesda’s Redfall before coming over to Blumhouse Games said in a statement: “We’re blown away by the teams who are creating our first slate of games, and truly couldn’t be more proud to partner with strong, independent game creators who are bringing unique ideas to the horror genre ,” Wood continued. “Our upcoming titles represent standout storytelling, inventive play styles, and fresh approaches to scary stories, created by game developers who are deeply passionate about horror.
