Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed a major change to this year's series as the competition unfolds. The hit BBC One dance contest returned to screens last month, marking its 20th year on air.
The pre-recorded launch show kicked things off. This year's celebrities were seen being paired with their professional dance partners for the first time, while the dancers also performed an "empowering" routine to celebrate Amy Dowden’s return after her breast cancer journey.
The 2024 run of the dance contest has since got underway, with the 15 couples already down to 13 following the second elimination last weekend after the first special of the series so far - Movie Week. It was confirmed that 'Icons Week' will be shimmying onto screens next month. In this brand-new special week, which will be part of this series and beyond, the remaining couples will take to the ballroom floor to honour music icons.
