In a blind taste test, Which? pitted Baileys against Aldi, Lidl, M&S, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s to find the best value Irish cream liqueurs.
Baileys triumphed overall, but only just, with several supermarket liqueurs impressing the tasters. The top cheaper pick, Lidl, scored just 1% less than Baileys overall and is nearly half the price.
Natalie Hitchins, Which? Head of Home Products and Services, said: “During the festive season, Irish cream liqueur is a much-loved staple, and some shoppers will already be thinking about how they can get hold of a great-tasting option at a reasonable price. “In our taste tests, Baileys was our panel's top choice, however Lidl's own-brand bottle was very close behind and costs almost half the price.
This Great Value Irish cream is a fantastic and budget-friendly alternative.” Best Buy: Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur – 76% £15 for 70cl bottle (£2.14 per 100ml) Baileys nabs the top spot again this year.
