Hugh Grant has revealed that he "wrote some scenes" to ensure his character, Daniel Cleaver, was included in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.The 64 year old actor is set to return to the romantic comedy franchise, starring Renee Zellweger, after not appearing in the previous film, Bridget Jones's Baby.
Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine, he said: "I loved the script-it made me cry, and I wanted to help with this one." However, he admitted there was initially no part for Daniel Cleaver.
He said: "But really there's no part for Daniel Cleaver in it at all.They wanted him in it, and in the end, they'd done something I wasn't crazy about." So, Hugh took control and "wrote some scenes" himself, which were incorporated into the story.
