Upper crust Airdrie business Christie the Baker will represent Lanarkshire at this year’s National Bakery Awards in London.The 80-year-old traditional high street baker, which has shops in Airdrie and Coatbridge, is best known for its scotch pies, plain bread, morning rolls and cream rings.“We are pleased to have made it through to the national finals, especially as it’s not a competition that we entered by ourselves - it comes from the industry who look at the overall business,” said Andrew Chisholm, owner and managing director of Christie the Baker.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
