A once-thriving seaside resort, often criticised for its decline, is poised for a dramatic revival as plans to revive a long-abandoned theme park gain momentum.
Morecambe, situated in Lancashire, recently earned the unwelcome distinction of being ranked among the UK's worst coastal towns by the Telegraph.
The publication delivered a scathing verdict, labelling it the fifth-worst seaside destination, lamenting that it has the potential to be "so much more than it is". Following 24 years of neglect, local authorities are keen to inject new life into the area, reports the Express. Jonathan Noad, a city council officer, revealed that approximately "35 regional and national developers" are set to converge on the town to discuss the abandoned theme park's future.
