Wout Weghorst reportedly wants to stay at Manchester United after his loan spell with Erik ten Hag's side finishes at the end of the season.

According to the Telegraph, the Reds are yet to open talks with the Dutch striker, who is set to return to Burnley following his loan stint at Old Trafford.

Weghorst signed for Erik ten Hag's side in January and has gone on to score just two goals in 25 appearances for the club. The report adds that the 30-year-old is keen to join United on a permanent basis, however, discussions have not yet started over a further deal for the frontman.

It is thought that Weghorst has attracted interest from other Premier League teams in recent months, with Burnley open to letting him depart.
