World famous Doge meme dog Kabosu dies aged 18 - 14 years after going viral

One of the internet's most famous dog, Kabosu, has died at the age of 18.The Shiba Inu, who was the face of the popular Doge meme and later the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, sadly passed away on Friday, May 24, after suffering from leukaemia and liver disease.

Her owner, Atsuko Sato, announced the sad news on Instagram, writing: "To all of you who loved Kabosu, on the morning of the 24 May, Kabosu crossed the rainbow bridge.Thank you all so much for your support over the years. "She went very peacefully without suffering, as if falling asleep while feeling the warmth of my hands petting her." "Thank you all so much for loving Kabosu all these years" Sato continued, reports the Daily Star. "I am certain Kabosu was the happiest dog in the world.That makes me the happiest owner in the world.

I would like to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who has sent us much love to us." Kabosu's death has been met with sadness by her fans around the world, with one commenting: "Kabosu could not have asked for a better owner.Thank you for sharing your silly little Shiba with us for all these years." "Thank you for giving Kabosu the most incredible life and sharing her with us all.

She is adored by the whole world and will be forever. Sending so much love" added another. While a third penned: "WE LOVE YOU KABO AND WE ALWAYS WILL RIP THE BEST DOG IN THE WORLD!!!!" Kabosu was born in 2005 and was rescued from a shelter in 2008.
