A woman was rushed into emergency life-saving surgery after a botched operation in Turkey left her organs so infected they ‘turned into concrete’.

Pinky Jolley gained weight after medical complications left her in a wheelchair. In November 2022 when her weight reached 17st 11lbs, the 46-year-old travelled to Turkey for gastric sleeve surgery.

Pinky, who suffers from diabetes, raised £2,100 via a GoFundMe page for accommodation, flights and the surgery and after booking the procedure, flew out two months later, the Liverpool Echo reports. When she came round from the two-hour operation, she felt very poorly and suffered intense stomach pain, vomiting and dehydration.
