Witness' horror as man falls to his death at tower block with pair arrested for murder

An eyewitness has spoken of his horror after seeing a man fall to his death from a tower block in Salford. The horrific incident happened at Black Friar Court in Salford on Sunday evening.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they were called to reports a 57-year-old man had fallen from a balcony of at the block.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. A murder investigation has been launched with a 37-year-old man and 40-year-old woman in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder. One man, who gave his name as Jay, says he witnessed the tragic incident. He told the Manchester Evening News he walked through the pedestrian gate on Blackfriars Road last night where he could see the man holding onto the ledge, 'hanging' and 'dangling down' from the balcony of a flat on the third floor of that side of the building.
