Ruben Amorim was applauded by Sporting CP supporters as he took to the touchline just hours after being confirmed as Manchester United's new head coach.
The 39-year-old will become the sixth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club when he begins his role at Old Trafford on November 11.
But after his appointment was made official at noon on Friday, Amorim still had three games to oversee with the Lisbon outfit before the international break later this month. And when he took to the touchline ahead of the game, Amorim was applauded by all four corners of the Estadio Jose as the Sporting CP supporters made their feelings clear on Manchester United's new head coach.
