Thousands of fans lined the streets of Leigh to give their team a hero's welcome after winning the Challenge Cup for the first time in more than half a century.

Leigh Leopards secured a dramatic last gasp victory against Hull KR at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon, the first time they had lifted the trophy since 1971.

A special open top bus parade was organised to give the team a rousing return following the historic win. Leigh town centre was a sea of red, white and leopard print as the Leythers showed off the hallowed trophy.

The bus made its way through Astley, Tyldesley and Atherton before reaching Market Street and stopping at Leigh Town Hall, where they were received on stage as the party atmosphere reached fever pitch.
