Rising Japanese singer-songwriter Soushi Sakiyama shared a new music video accompanying his song "Kuni" ("Country") from 2018.
Sakiyama is a 17-year-old artist who released his debut album, Itsuka mita kuni ("A country one once saw"), in December 2018. "Kuni" was the lead single on this set, and the video helmed by Hana Matsumoto was released to coincide with the album's release.
The new version of the dreamy visuals, featuring the young musician performing alone on a pier, displays the poetic lyrics to better highlight the meaning. "Let's make a country for only us/ That stops time and is happy," Sakiyama sings in the chorus, "Enough to make us forget the tears shed in the past." Watch below:
