Unusual symptom of liver cancer that can show up when you're out shopping

Having a browse around the shops is a really popular and fun pastime - but what's not so enjoyable is lugging any heavy bags home afterwards.A shopping trip or doing any other kind of tasks around the home can leave us feeling tired and achy afterwards, and often it's not something to be concerned about.However, getting a pain in your shoulder may be a sign of liver cancer - which affects thousands of people in the UK and is difficult to spot in the early stages.That's according to Cancer Research UK, who says shoulder pain is one of the lesser-known signs of the condition, Wales Online reports.

The charity says that figures show in an average year more than 6,000 people are diagnosed with the disease. However, a lot of these cases aren't spotted in the early stages, meaning less than one in 10 people will survive for more than 10 years after they have been diagnosed.

It's difficult to spot because liver cancer often doesn't present any symptoms at first. However, there are some red flags that you should be aware of - some of which show up when doing everyday tasks.Pain in the right shoulder is one of these, which can become apparent when carrying shopping bags or hoovering the house.Cancer Research UK says: "A swollen (enlarged) liver can cause pain in your right shoulder.

This is because the enlarged liver stimulates nerves that connect to nerves in the shoulder.
