Two teenagers stabbed before boy arrested

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after two people were stabbed in Salford. Police were called to Whittle Street in Worsley at about 11.30pm on Friday.

Two teenagers - a boy, 15, and a girl, also 15 - were taken to hospital with knife wounds. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A section 60 Order, giving police extra powers to stop and search people, will be in place until 12.16am on Sunday. It covers the area surrounding Whittle Street, Worsley and also the areas within Manchester Road, Moss Lane, Brackley Street and Ashton Field Drive.

Extra officers will also be on patrol in the area over the next few days. Insp Rod Ashton said: "We have authorised stop-and-search powers in the area in response to a number of incidents over recent weeks.
