Tupac death – Police charge man with 1996 shooting of rapper

A man has been charged with murder over the death of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur, 27 years after he was murdered in Las Vegas, USA.

On Friday 29th September, one of the last remaining witnesses from the incident, Duane "Keefe D" Davis, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He has now been charged, according to a statement from Las Vegas police. Duane, now 60, who was arrested in the morning while walking near his home, has been indicted by a grand jury in Nevada on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

Prosecutor Marc DiaGiacomo described Duane as the "on-ground, on-site commander" who "ordered the death" of Tupac, CBS News reported.The case had remained unsolved ever since Tupac was killed following a drive-by shooting nearly three decades ago on 7th September 1996, but Duane has reportedly been known to the police for years.
