Some are an exception to the rule (looking at you Fenty and Rare Beauty), but generally, these products just feel wasteful. If you’re not solving problems or creating anything new, why make it at all?

That said, Becky G started Treslúce Beauty with the goal of empowering other Latines to feel beautiful in their own skin while also supporting Latine artists—and I was keen on trying the lipsticks from her line.

Despite my initial reservations, the formula instantly impressed me. (As someone who owns over two hundred lipsticks and has tested hundreds of different brands, formulas, and colors over the course of my career as a beauty writer, it takes a lot for a new lipstick to impress me, especially during the winter when my lips are beyond chapped.) The lipstick has a velvety texture that is super pigmented and goes on incredibly smooth.
