Chaz Bear (Toro y Moi) has shared a psychedelic new track titled "Déjà Vu,” It's an offering from the South Carolina-born, Bay Area-based chillwave progenitor's forthcoming 10th studio LP MAHAL, coming April 29.

After releasing his first nine albums on D.C. indie label Carpark Records, MAHAL will be his Dead Oceans debut. The new song, which follows "Postman" and "Magazine" — released together in January along with MAHAL's announcement — and last month's "The Loop" as the forthcoming record's fourth single.

It's got a slightly darker, murkier vibe than the project's previously shared cuts, trading Bear's generally plush, dreamy instrumental collages for a crunchy, driving psych-rock guitar straight from the turn of the '70s with period-appropriate bass and drums to match. "Déjà Vu in a town like this / Only simply makes me miss / Everything all about you / Everything that we would do," he sings during a lull in the action, pining for a person lost to the past.
