A huge debate has sparked online over a delicious Scottish party staple that would be at almost every child's birthday party.
Top hats are the scrumptious treat comprised of a marshmallow topped with melted chocolate and a singular Smartie which became the norm at children's parties from the 1970s.
Glasgow Live reports an intense cross-border debate sparked after one user took to social media to ask whether these chocolate treats were purely a Scottish thing. "My husband has never seen these before and doesn’t know what they’re called," Ali wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "They were an absolute staple of the Scottish children’s party scene in my 1990s childhood.
