Lewis Anderson and his little sister provide just the kind of back-up our emergency workers need at Christmas. The pair have been playing Santa to nurses, firefighters, and police officers.

Lewis, ten, and Georgia, seven, spent Christmas Day dropping off presents at local stations and also at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

It is a family tradition which began six years ago. Their dad, Paul Anderson, said: "This year we gave computer tablets to Ronald McDonald House at the children's' hospital, selection boxes and Doughnut also went there.

We made a £50 donation to Max Trax in Openshaw, a cause where a family who lost a child are hoping to build a bike park in his memory. "Lewis spent Christmas in the children's hospital six years ago and while he was there there wasn't many toys for the children to play with and every year since then we have taken toys and donations and it has just grown.
