Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Taylor Swift has issued a heartbreaking statement after she discovered that a fan had tragically died before her Brazil concert got underway on Friday night.The pop icon's Eras Tour continued in Brazil's Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos as the city came under a heat warning.The popstar, 33, said her heart was 'shattered' as she confirmed the devastating news when she released a heartfelt statement after the concert ended.The hitmaker took to the stage in Rio de Janeiro for yet another sold-out stadium show but as soon as Taylor was off-stage, she took to Instagram to share the awful news with her 276 million followers.

Announcing the sad death of a Swiftie, Taylor penned: "I can't believe I'm writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. "I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this.There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young." Taylor is scheduled to perform again on Saturday and Sunday but warned fans she is "not going to be able to speak about this from stage" because she feels "overwhelmed by grief." She added: "I'm not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. "I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends.This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil." has contacted Taylor's representatives for comment.Temperatures soared to almost 100 degrees during the concert on Friday and Taylor even paused the show at one point to ensure fans had enough water in the sweltering heat.
