Strike action by cleaners and fuellers at two Lanarkshire bus depots has been averted - for now. Unite the union has confirmed that Bidvest Noonan workers, contracted to clean and refuel buses for First Bus, including at depots in Wishaw and Blantyre, have suspended their strike action due to begin today (Wednesday) whilst they ballot on a new pay offer made by the company.

Over 100 cleaners, fuellers and shunters were set to strike after previously rejecting a two per cent pay offer.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
