Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni reacts as former partner wades in on Amanda Abbington row

The professional dancer, 33, was paired up with actress Amanda Abbington for the 2023 series, and the Sherlock star has since "demanded footage from the BBC of her training sessions with Giovanni", amid claims she has PTSD from her time on the show.
Since this news broke, Giovanni's former celeb partner Debbie McGee, who reached the final of Strictly back in 2017, appeared to speak out in defence of Giovanni as she shared a snap from her time on the show.
Captioning the photo, Debbie wrote: "Happy memories. Giovanni and I had the best of times on Strictly." Responding to Debbie's sweet post, Giovanni commented: "Love you … thank you [three heart emojis]." However, despite Debbie only having "happy memories" of her time with Giovanni, a number of his previous celebrity partners on the show have spoken about their difficult time, with his 2016 partner Laura Whitmore saying that she was “broken” after participating in the competition. "I’m still not ready to talk in depth about my experience on the show," she told Huffington Post in 2018. "I was placed with a dance partner I was extremely uncomfortable with and in the end I felt broken, I cried every day.
