St Johnstone chairman Steve Brown will be standing down from his role at the end of May.Brown, who took hold of the reins from father Geoff back in November 2011, said it has been an “honour” to be involved with the club and that the time was now right to make the decision.The Perth chairman will officially confirm the news at the club’s AGM, which takes place on Friday afternoon.Brown has been at the McDiarmid Park helm for 11 years and, during this period, Saints have been an ever-present in Scottish football’s top-flight.Included have been numerous forays into European football, two Scottish Cup wins (2014 and 2021) and a League Cup triumph (2021).Brown, when he steps down at the end of the season, noted that he will continue to be a supporter of the club.“As a lifelong St Johnstone supporter, it’s been an honour to be a part of this great football club,” he said.“During my time on the board, and as chairman, I’ve always given 100 percent and tried to do what was best for St Johnstone.“We’ve had some great times and the cup successes in 2014 and 2021 will never leave me.

We’ve played in European football and we’ve had many, many top six finishes.“But I feel the time is right to stand down as chairman and I will go on May 31 of next year.“This has been on my mind for some time.
