Sick intruders smash holy statue during rampage at Scottish church

Blantyre on Friday where they broke a statue of Saint Anthony. They escaped empty handed but the raid triggered outrage online.Police Scotland have now launched a probe into the sickening incident.

A social media post from St Joseph’s Parish, Blantyre, showed a picture of the statue lying smashed on the floor of the church.

It has generated thousands of comments and reactions.The post said: “Regrettably we had intruders at St John Ogilvie’s Church last night.

Thankfully there was nothing of value to take. The main damage was the statue of St Anthony has been toppled and destroyed.”Marion Roy wrote: “I’m really sorry to hear that.
