Health chiefs have launched a new blitz to combat so-called ‘ Long Covid ’ in Scotland. The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and other bodies unveiled guidance on the condition as the news emerged that more than 5000 Scots could be living with the condition.Safia Qureshi, director of evidence for Healthcare Improvement Scotland, said the guidelines were a vital step in ensuring people experiencing long-term effects from Covid-19 get the right care and support.She said: “We appreciate how difficult it must be for people to face so much uncertainty with this condition and the significant impact it can have on people’s quality of life.“We will update the guideline as new evidence emerges to ensure that patients and the clinical.
