Shakira is ready to move on… And away! After announcing their separation back in June of this year following THOSE cheating rumors, the Hips Don’t Lie singer and her longtime partner Gerard Piqué have gone their separate ways.
Literally. In a statement given to TMZ early Monday morning, the exes revealed they have reached a custody agreement for their two shared sons, Sasha and Milan, noting: Related: Hear What Shakira Has To Say About Her ‘Incredibly Difficult’ Split From Gerard! It’s great that it sounds like the two are putting their children first, despite how they may feel about one another… But what exactly does it all mean for their future?
Well, according to the same report, following the 12-hour-long custody agreement meeting, Shakira decided she and the kids will be leaving Barcelona — and moving to Miami.
A source close to the pop star told the outlet the couple “signed an agreement that is best for the kids — which is their main focus.” But “after 8 years of living in Barcelona,” the mother and sons will now “move back to her longtime home of Miami, where all the maternal family is.” Wow, that’s quite the distance… We’re just left wondering how that factors into the custody agreement, which hasn’t revealed any sort of time division for the kids between their parents.
