The Scottish SPCA is asking animal lovers to donate food for hedgehogs at a wildlife hospital. The National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Fishcross, Clackmannanshire, is 'desperate' for donations of hedgehog food after a busy winter period.

They currently have over 60 hedgehogs and 'plenty of hungry mouths to feed' at their facility. As well as Brambles hedgehog food the rescue centre are also appealing for Whiskas cat food for the hedgehogs in their care like Grey. All cat food donations must be non-fish based.

Food can be purchased from the centre’s Amazon wish list or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery to the centre.Centre assistant manager, Maddie Milburn, said: “We are running extremely low on hedgehog food and wet cat food which we use to feed the hedgehogs at our centre.

Hedgehogs come in to our care when they are sick or injured."Grey came to us at the beginning of October weighing just over 100g.
