Scottish Book Club host joined by Elaine C Smith as TV series returns

A North Lanarkshire village will get a special “shout out” on television this weekend.The new series of The Scottish Book Club, which starts on the BBC Scotland channel on Sunday, October 30, is being hosted by author Damian Barr.Damian grew up in Newarthill and in the first episode he will be joined for some book chat by Elaine C.

Smith, who also grew up in the village.There have been three previous series of the popular BBC Scotland discussion show, and as they turn the page for this fourth series they will be ramping up the chat.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
