Scott Brown tonight ordered Ayr to cut out their mistakes after finishing empty handed against title challenging Raith Rovers.
The Honest Men were made to rue their own errors as they ultimately came up short against the Fifers. And Brown insists Ayr must be more street-smart as they look to continue their early progress under his guidance.
He said: "I'm disappointed because two mistakes have cost us the goals today. When you are up against top quality players you know you will be punished.
When you give the ball away in the middle of the park like we did, you are wide open to the counter. It was frustrating because I thought overall we were the better team and created chances but we're just not being ruthless enough. "That's the last three games where we've lost two goals and that's not a good sign for us as a team.
