Scots street 'has over 100 potholes' as furious locals left to drive on pavements

A street of Edinburgh-home owners believe they could be living on the capital's most potholed road. Barnshot Road, in Colinton, has homes worth £1.4m but the road has more than 100 potholes.

The problem is only part of the road is council owned, and the other side is private. The side of the road owned by the council is well kept, but the other side has been left in disrepair forcing locals to drive on the pavements to avoid damaging their cars, Edinburgh Live reports.Geoff Green, who is 74 years old and has lived there for a long time, said: "I think the road is really bad and I'd love to get everyone together to do something about this but the water supply runs down and before you know it, the street is like the Grand Canyon again." "It absolutely has to be the worst potholed road in Edinburgh, there are a few nearby that are catching up but I wouldn't advise anyone to roar up in a taxi because you'll get a fair amount of abuse from the driver." Geoff explained that people should look after the path by their house, but because the road is so bad, drivers are using the path instead. "I think they do it because it is a smoother route, I've seen delivery vans go up and down the road on the pavement with a few even refusing to drive up the hill over the surface.

Some of them leave their vehicles at the bottom and walk up."A long-time local told us that a neighbour tried to fill in the holes themselves but has since given up.
