Comedian Nate Bargatze will host Saturday Night Live for the first time on Oct. 28. Joining him in the Halloween edition of SNL will be Foo Fighters who will take the stage as musical guest for the ninth time.
This is the last of three straight original episodes of SNL that are kicking off the current 49th season. The season premiere last week, which drew 4.8 million viewers on NBC, was hosted by Pete Davidson, with Ice Spice as musical guest; Bad Bunny will serve as host and musical guest this Saturday.
In is unclear whether Tom Hanks, a Halloween SNL staple, will reprise his popular character David S. Pumpkins. The sketch comedy, which is exempt from the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, has relied on touring comedians (Davidson, Bargatze) and musicians (Bad Bunny) as hosts during the work stoppage when actors cannot promote studio work.
The Grammy Award-nominated Bargatze is performing stand-up on his “Be Funny” national tour. The Grammy-winning Foo Fighters is currently touring in support of its 11th album, “But Here We Are.” In addition to the broadcast on NBC, SNL streams live on Peacock.
