pest infestations have been logged by schools in Scotland in just three years. The enormous number of call-outs include a wide range of problems from moles in Dumfries and Galloway to maggots and even seagulls in West Dumbartonshire.
The scale of the problem is revealed in council logs covering infestations from 2016 to 2019.Pest controllers also dealt with ants in a dining room, as well as problems with slugs, snails, rats, mice and bees in Clackmannanshire.A wasp nest was found in a gym hall and mice targeted in a classroom in East Lothian.
Borders Council reported problems with spiders, moths and rats.The call-outs are above regular inspections across the country's 32 local authorities.Beatrice Wishart, the Scottish Liberal Democrat.
