Residents of a Fife street have been left angered after rampaging thugs smashed 12 car windows.Officers from Police Scotland have launched a probe after the reckless incident happened on Cairns Street West in Kirkcaldy overnight on Friday, August 2.

Pictures shared with the Daily Record showed a number of cars with their side windows smashed in.Scattered glass could be seen scattered over the pavement with one vehicle covering up the damage with a plastic sheet.Raising the alarm on Saturday morning, one local resident said: "The full length of Cairns Street West from the top of Overton road, 12 cars have had there windows smashed sometime this morning."Locals were left fuming and dozens of angry comments quickly flooded in on social media.One person said: "Sake man why do folk mess with cars!

Does my head in!! Mine got keyed along with five neighbours cars not too long ago."Another said: "Omg, that's shocking, feel sorry for all.

There's just no need for it."A third added: "Disgusting I hope somebody has a camera that's picked them up."Police confirmed they received a report of the incident and their enquiries are ongoing.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of windows damaged on a number of cars on Cairns Street West, Kirkcaldy overnight on Friday, August 2, 2024.
