Rafael Nadal has announced that he will not be competing in the upcoming 2024 U.S. Open. On Tuesday (August 7), the 38-year-old 22-time Grand Slam champion revealed on Instagram that he had dropped out of the upcoming tennis tournament that is set to take place from August 26 through Sept.

8 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. Best of lucks to all for the always amazing US Open!” Rafael concluded his announcement by confirming that he will be competing in the Laver Cup in Berlin, which will take place from Sept.

20 to Sept. 22. The Spanish tennis player is a four-time U.S. Open champion, having won the tournament in 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2019.
