Princess Beatrice has found herself plunged into the drama surrounding her father, Prince Andrew, following the release of Netflix’s Scoop.

Sources have told OK! that Beatrice, 35, is upset and feeling unfairly targeted after her involvement in discussions surrounding the Duke of York’s controversial Newsnight interview. The source adds that Beatrice is dreading the release of the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios series, A Very Royal Scandal, based on Emily Maitlis' perspective. “Bea is dreading the release of Emily’s version of events because she thinks she will feature more heavily in it,” the source said. “She believes it will stir everything up for no reason and nobody will let her live it down.To say she is upset is an understatement - she’s devastated.” A Very Royal Scandal is an upcoming three-part television series set to be released on Amazon Prime later this year. The drama will include Emily Maitlis as executive producer and Ruth Wilson will star as her.

Michael Sheen will play Prince Andrew and the drama will be directed by Julian Jarrold. "Bea feels unfairly targeted. She’s so upset by all of this,” the source said. “She adores her father but didn’t want to be dragged into this so publicly.” The series will come shortly after the release of Scoop on Netflix - the story of the interview based on the book by Sam McAllister. The show had a stellar cast, including Rufus Sewell as the Duke of York, Gillian Anderson as Emily Maitlis and Keely Hawes as Amanda Thirsk.

OK! revealed late last year that Beatrice, who is not a working royal, would step up to represent the royal family at public events to help support a struggling “slimmed down” monarchy. “Bea feels like this has set her back a few steps just as everything was.
