Prince William has 'lot to overcome' with stepmother Camilla but 'warmed' to her thanks to one key royal

The introduction occurred when William, then just 17, had returned home from the prestigious boarding school for the weekend to Clarence House, where he met the woman who would eventually become his stepmother."She was shaking like a leaf," Royal expert Christopher Andersen, author of The King: The Life of Charles III, revealed to Us Weekly about the now Queen Consort. "As soon as William left, she said she needed a gin and tonic."Prior to this formal introduction, Camilla was known to both William and his younger brother Harry as the 'other woman', due to her infamous affair with their father during his marriage to Princess Diana.
Camilla herself was also married to Andrew Parker Bowles at the time. After their respective divorces and the tragic death of Princess Diana in August 1997, Charles and Camilla were able to openly pursue their long-standing romance, eventually announcing to the world that they were officially a couple.
